Thai visa/passport needs
The countries or regions that grant visa-free or visa-on-arrival to Thai passport holders are:(30 days for all passport types)
- Cambodia (Visa on arrival - tourist for $20, business for $25)
- Hong Kong
- Indonesia
- Laos
- Philippines
- Singapore
Thai citizens without passports can visit Laos for short periods using a Border Pass issued in Thailand.´
Cambodia (KH)
Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of arrival.
Visa required.
- On arrival: if required, to foreign nationals living abroad holding proof of being born in Cambodia, and with a passport photo. Free of charge. Visa is valid until passport expires.
- On arrival: if required, to those coming for touristic or business purposes for a stay of max. 30 days. Fee: USD 20,- and passport photo is required. (SEE NOTE 23655)
NOTE: Extensions are possible for: touristic purposes: one month: USD 5/day; business purposes: one month: USD 45, 6 months: USD 155, 1 year: USD 285.Additional Information:- All visitors must hold tickets and documents required for their next destination and sufficient funds to cover their stay.
China (People's Rep.) (CN)
Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid on arrival.
Visa required (except for Holders of an APEC Business Travel Card, provided the back of the card states that it is valid for travel to China).
- On arrival: if required, (although it is highly recommended to obtain a visa prior to arrival): to holders of normal passports, provided arrangements have been made prior to departure to China at the following airports only (prior confirmation from the Immigration authorities is that visa will be issued on arrival)
Additional Information:
- Valid visa or resident permit in an expired passports are accepted, provided holding also valid passport of the same nationality.
- Visitors must hold all documents required for their next destination and sufficient funds to cover their stay. Travel on a one-way ticket is accepted.
Warning:
- Passengers not complying with the entry or transit regulations will be deported by same or returning aircraft.
Chinese Taipei (TW)
Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival.
Passport Exemptions:
- Holders of Emergency or Temporary passports.Visa required, except for A stay of max. 90 days:
- for holders of an APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC), provided the back of the card states that it is valid for travel to Taiwan, together with a valid passport.
Minors:
- In the event of children (until/including 19 years) travelling on their parent's passport and the visa (which is required) has not been stamped in the passport but issued on a separate document, the name of each of these children must be inserted in the parent's visa.
- An unexpired visa in an expired passport may be used provided that the passenger also carries a second valid passport which is similar in kind to the expired passport (passports comprise three varieties: either normal, official or diplomatic).
- Visitors must hold confirmed return or onward tickets and all documents required for their next destination. Visitors who are visa exempt or obtaining a landing visa on arrival, should have no criminal record.
Hong Kong (SAR China) (HK)
Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing travel documents must be valid for at least one month after the period of the intended stay.Visa required, except for A stay of max.1 month to nationals of Thailand or Holders of an APEC Business Travel Card. The back of the card must state that it is valid for travel to Hong Kong (SAR China):
- All visitors must hold:
- onward or return tickets, except when in transit to either mainland China (People's Rep.) or Macao (SAR China);
- all documents required for next destination and sufficient funds to cover their stay in Hong Kong.Indonesia (ID)Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid at least 6 months after the date of entry.Visa required, except for a maximum stay of 30 days, provided arriving at one of the following airports:Ambon (Pattimura), Balikpapan (Seppinggan), Bandung (Husein Sastranegara), Batam (Hangnadim), Biak (Frans Kasiepo), Denpasar Bali (Ngurah Rai), Jakarta (Soekarno-Hatta), Kupang (Eltari), Manado (Sam Ratulangi), Mataram (Selaparang), Medan (Polonia), Padang (Tabing), Pekan Baru (Simpangtiga), Pontianak (Supadio), Solo (Adi Sumarno), Surabaya (Adi Juanda) or Ujung Pandang (Hasanuddin):Visa required, except for Holders of an APEC Business Travel Card, provided the back of card states that it is valid for travel to Indonesia.
- Visitors wishing to travel to the Indonesian province of Irian Jaya must obtain a special permit ("Surat Jalan")
Laos (LA)
Passport required
- Passport and/or accepted passport replacing documents must be valid for at least 6 months.Visa required, except for Nationals of Thailand for a max. stay of 30 days.
Myanmar (MM)
Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid on arrival.Visa required.
Compulsory Currency Exchange:
- A minimum of USD 200.- has to be changed into local currency on arrival.Additional Information:
- Travel to/from Myanmar is only allowed by air or by sea.
- Children over 7 years of age mentioned in the passport of a parent must hold a separate visa.
- A tourist visa is only valid for a maximum period of 28 days. Travelers must hold confirmed return or onward tickets.
Philippines (PH)
Passport required.
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid for at least 6 months beyond period of intended stay Passports with a validity less than 6 months (not expired) may be accepted, at the discretion of the immigration officer, provided there is an embassy/consulate of the country of nationality in the Philippines, where the passport can be extended, renewed or replaced with a new passport. In this case, the intended stay should not be more than the length of time remaining on the validity of the passport.Visa required, except for Those coming for a max. stay of 21 days. Visa required, except for Holders of an APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC).
- Holders of an APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) which is valid for travel to the Philippines (with "PHL" on the back of the card), together with a national passport.
Visa Issuance:
- On arrival: if required, a visa can be issued for a max. stay of 59 days. FEES: visa fee of USD 50 (bank exchange slip is mandatory), express fee: PHP 500, legal research fee: PHP 10.
Minors:
- Alien non-resident minors travelling without parents, can obtain a "Waiver of Exclusion Ground" (WEG) on arrival in the Philippines. Their passport will be retained by Immigration until the WEG has been secured and the immigration fee of approximately PHP 3120 paid.
- Minors travelling accompanied by parents whose surname is not the same as the surname of the minor should carry proof of their relationship, e.g., a birth certificate.
Additional Information:
- Visitors must hold tickets and documents for return/onward journey and sufficient funds to cover their stay.
- Length of stays are calculated by starting on the next day after the day of arrival in the Philippines.
Warning:
- Non-compliance with visa requirements will result in a fine of PHP 50,000 and transportation at delivering carrier's expense to the country of origin.
Singapore (SG)
Passport required
- Passport and/or passport replacing documents must be valid for at least 6 months on arrival.Visa required, except for Holders of passports issued to nationals of Thailand, for a stay up to 30 days. Extension possible for a fee of SGD 40. Visa required, except for Holders of an APEC business travel card for a stay of max. 60 days provided presented together with a passport. On the back of the card it must state that it is valid for travel to Singapore (SGP).
Minors:
- Foreign minors up to/including 15 years of age (may be included in the passport (or passport replacing document) of one of the parents or legal guardian, provided they are accompanied by that parent or legal guardian. In case of non-compliance entry will be refused.
Additional Information:
- Visitors must hold confirmed return or onward ticket and sufficient funds for maintenance during their stay in Singapore. Moreover they must hold valid documents (including visas, if required) to their onward destinations.
- Foreign ladies in advanced state of pregnancy, not coming as a tourist and wishing to deliver their child in Singapore, should make prior application to the Visitor Services Center, ICA Building, No. 10 Kallang Road, Singapore 208718, tel.0011-65-63916100(www.ica.gov.sg). Application can be submitted through a local sponsor when she is 5 or more months pregnant, for the issue of a social visit pass for entry and transit. This restriction is not applicable to nationals of Singapore or alien residents of Singapore holding a Re-entry Permit into Singapore. Applications take approx. 4 weeks to process.
